Questions, answered
What does “bring your own model keys” mean?
Maelo runs on your own model provider keys, so you control model choice and spend directly. Where Maelo runs work on its own cloud, usage is metered per company; local runners are unmetered.
What’s the difference between Maelo Cloud and Maelo Local?
Cloud runs builds and automations on Maelo’s always-available infrastructure. Local lets you register your own machine as an always-on runner, so execution happens on hardware you own — with cloud as the fallback.
Can I ship without a human in the loop?
Today Maelo builds and opens clean PRs for a human to review and merge. Full Autopilot — auto-merge the moment tests and autonomous QA are green — is coming soon; a QA skip will never count as a pass, and anything red or unverifiable escalates to a human.
Is my data used to train models?
No. Your data and credentials are yours. Sensitive logins stay in a vault, dispatch tokens are short-lived and scoped, and runners dial out rather than opening inbound access.
